Had never been to: West Side Market
"It's a large grocery store right in your backyard. It would take me hours to get through there, buying and trying food." As Capel wandered through the market, she says, she was surprised by how much was under one roof. "The flower guy was trying to sell me flowers. There was a display at a butcher's booth that had a pig's head wearing sunglasses."

Had never been to: Slavic Village
"I was trying to think back to what it was like 30-50 years ago. You can just imagine the culture and how busy it was." He recommends checking out Seven Roses Deli, where he met a friend for lunch. "Just sit, listen and ask questions. The people who work there just love talking about the neighborhood," he says. "Also, just to get in the car and drive around. There's a gorgeous church nearby that still does a Polish Mass on Sundays."
Downtown Cleveland Alliance manager of business communications and membership

Had never been to: Cleveland Public Library special collections
"I could spend a whole week there. The photography deposit has more than a million photographs." He especially liked the Karamu House photo display. "One can truly appreciate how creative arts institutions like Karamu House have impacted Clevelanders for generations." He says to pick up a self-guided tour brochure. "It helps you learn about all the great things that the library has to offer. And it's free."
