It’s a weekend of music and booze with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra taking on the Grinch, a winter wine festival, a John Lennon retrospective and a tour through Tremont.
Relive the Christmases of your childhood with the help of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. Winter WineFest 2017
Warm up with a glass of wine at Cleveland Vegan Society’s Winter WineFest. Hosted at CLE Urban Winery, each ticket includes a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres from some of Cleveland’s best vegan joints, including Helio Terra Vegan Café, Primoz Pizza and the Vegan Doughnut Company. Women Walk The Line
Gather ‘round, y’all. Visible Voice is going honky-tonk as Holly Gleason swings by for a night of celebrating the legendary women of country music. Gleason, a Shaker Heights native now based in Nashville, has written for publications such as Rolling Stone, The LA Times and Playboy. She recently edited a compilation of personal essays, Woman Walk The Line: How the Women in Country Music Changed Our Lives. The book includes personal essays from country’s biggest female stars, including Dolly Parton, June Carter Cash and Taylor Swift, about the artists who have inspired them. On Friday, catch a free ride on Lolly the Trolly that will take you around on a neighborhood-spanning holiday party filled with shopping, beer and food from local favorites like Crust, Fahrenheit and Ginko. Then on Saturday, show up in your warmest work out clothes for a Santa-themed fun run followed by a post-race party. John Lennon Remembered
Find a pair of retro round-rim sunglasses before heading out to the Beachland Ballroom for this John Lennon tribute. On the anniversary of his death, this free concert will feature local musicians, including Bill March, Jim Cika and Kendall Stauffer, paying homage to the late music icon. With nods to each era of his career, from his time as a part of The Beatles to his solo projects, the event will support the nonprofit Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present and Future.
