Creatures of the Light: Nature’s Glowing Mysteries
Explore the deepest forests, darkest caves and more at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Creatures of the Light exhibit. Step into re-creations of the darkest environments that glow thanks to bioluminescent organisms. Learn all about the chemical reactions that make these creatures to glow-in-the-dark and enjoy their luminosity. Made in Ohio Art & Craft Festival
This year the annual fest allows you to feed your appetite for all things crafty as well as local foods. Vendors hawk glass vases, Ohio-shaped cutting boards and local syrup. The fest, which is the brainchild of local crafter Renee Flynn, now offers 160 vendors selling wares and draws about 12,000 shoppers. Accidental Comedy Fest
If you just want to laugh, head to the Accidental Comedy Fest to see acts from Cleveland and throughout the country. For the first time, the fest is held on the 120-seat cabaret stage and 400-seat main Hilarities 4th Street Theatre stage at Pickwick & Frolic. Cleveland Oktoberfest
Raise a glass to your chance to try Germany’s No.1-selling Oktoberfest beer. This fest offers pours from the top German brewery Paulaner and Hackner-Pschorr, another big brewery from the Munich Oktoberfest. There is plenty outside of the stein too. Watch the wiener dog races, listen to the Chardon Polka Band, try a sausage platter or witness the lively show on the massive Glockenspiel. Tanz Summerfest
Feel the pulse-pounding energy of an EDM fest without blowing your travel budget. Tanz Summerfest takes over the Flats with two stages featuring big names in house music including headliner Zedd, known for his chart-topping hit “Stay” with Alessia Cara. Also catch Nicky Romero, a Dutch DJ and Protocol Recordings founder who has signed artists such as Calvin Harris and Arno Cost.
