EarthQuaker Day
A music celebration like no other, EarthQuaker Day has a killer lineup, competitions and more. Bands such as The Beyonderers, Caveman, Mourning [A] BLKstar, Niights and more rock the stage, but you'll have a chance to shred too. The Paul Reed Smith Guitar Riff Competition is open to all and they'll even supply you with a guitar. The winner recieves a Maryland-made PRS S2 Standard 22 Guitar in a custom Blue Smokeburst ($1,349 retail value) and an EarthQuaker Devices pedalboard. Abe Frajndlich: Portraits of Our Early Years
Spend a weekend with the visual art of freelance artist Abe Frajndlich at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland. His artistic journey began in the 70s as he began to capture the photos of legendary artists and celebrities under the tutelage of his mentor, Minor White. Has worked for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Life, ArtNews, London Sunday Times, London Observer, Vanity Fair and more. He gained fame for his ability to capture intimate visions of the famous people he photographed such as Andy Warhol, Yoko Ono, Lou Reed and more. Free. GroundWorks Dance Theater
Continuing Akron's 46-year tradition of presenting free dance performances, the Heinz Summer Poll Dance Festival is back. A celebration full of dancing in honor of the artistic director of Ohio Ballet, Heinz Poll. Check out GroundWorks, a group know for being a vibrant and sustainable organization that is nationally recognized for making a unique contribution to the art form through original contemporary dance. Twilight at the Zoo
We're wild for Twilight at the Zoo. Hosted by the Cleveland Zoological Society it brings out the wild side of typical zoo activities with 18 live bands performing energizing covers and original music on 18 stages scattered throughout the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. You can also view massive light displays, check out the Asian Lantern Festival and munch on bites from local chefs. $85. Imagine Dragons
Kicking off the NFL’s 100th season, the Concert for Legends will be hosting the multi-Grammy award-winning band, Imagine Dragons. Presented by Ford, the concert wraps up the 2019 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week — a weekend of VIP Parties and a chance to meet athletes inducted into the hall of fame.
