Luke Bryan
Late summer flannel weather, parking lot tailgating and an outdoor concert at Blossom — this is your kind of night, country fans. Luke Bryan brings his Sunset Repeat tour to the Cuyahoga Falls music venue as the summer’s second-to-last installment of the Country Megaticket. The country act, who broke out with classics such as “Country Girls (Shake It For Me)” and will perform new hits off his recent release Crash My Party, has strong support in openers Cole Swindell and Jon Langston. $133-$533, Blossom Music Center, 1145 W Steels Corners Rd, Cuyahoga Falls, livenation.com
Greater Cleveland Urban Film Fest
Film has the power to transform viewers to a different world, elevate voices, help individuals see themselves in the faces of heroes and empathize with those unlike them. This year, the eighth annual Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival continues its mission to showcase the work of emerging and established filmmakers who contribute to and celebrate urban culture. In addition to showing more than 75 films over nine days, the volunteer-run event creates dynamic dialogue and promotes the next generation of minority filmmakers. Free-$25, 9/12-9/20, 10 a.m.-11 p.m., Atlas Cinemas Shaker Square 6, 13116 Shaker Square, Cleveland, greaterclevelandurbanfilmfestival.org
Village Peddler Festival
We’re huge fans of fall around here, so apologies if we tend to push the season. But if you’re like us, layer up and head to Lake Metroparks Farmpark’s kickoff of the season. In addition to free wagon rides, animal petting stations, a corn maze, the Kirtland event features live bluegrass and folk music by the Silver String Band, delicious fresh food and more than 175 artisans and crafters from six states. $5-9, 9/14 10 a.m.-6 p.m., 9/15 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Lake Metroparks Farmpark, 8800 Euclid Chardon Road, Kirtland, lakemetroparks.com
Bourbon and Bacon Fest
If someone hypothetically asked us what our final meal might be, bourbon and bacon would definitely be on the table. Luckily, a Cleveland festival celebrating our beloved guilty pleasures is a reality. Featuring 30 different bourbons, including some of our personal favorite sips such as Woodford Reserve and Basil Haydens, the all-day event offers educational seminars and samplers on many of the highlighted distilleries. The bacon portion of the party offers bacon-forward dishes from local chefs. Add some live music, and this is an event we can die happy after. $55, 9/14, noon-10 p.m., Flats East Bank, Old River Road & W. 10th Street, Cleveland, tastecle.com
Cleveland Indians vs. Minnesota Twins
OK, here’s the deal. The Tribe is in the fight of their lives for a playoff bid. As of this writing, we sit five games behind the Twins, who lead the division, and a half-game back in the Wild Card standings. Luckily, after a three-game winning streak, Terry Francona’s team welcomes the Twins to their home turf in a three-game series this weekend. With Friday night dollar dog night and a hoodie giveaway on Saturday, there’s no better — or more urgent — time to bring the noise to Progressive Field. $19-$239, 9/13 7:10 p.m., 9/14 7:10 p.m., 9/15 1:10 p.m., Progressive Field, 2401 Ontario St., Cleveland, mlb.com
Correction: A previous version of this article stated the Village Peddler Fest is free. It cost $5 for children, $7 for ages 60+ and $9 for adults.
