Fair Trade Chocolate...

(plus more of our latest favorites!)
A New Ilk of Milk
The luscious, creamy taste of Laloo’s goat milk ice cream and frozen yogurt has been converting taste buds across the country. It doesn’t hurt that the stuff has fewer calories and more calcium than its cow counterpart. The newest flavors are Raspberry and Brownie & Clyde. $5.99-$6.99 at Whole Foods and Wild Oats.
Chocolate with Heart
Divine Chocolate bars are fairly delicious, and fairly traded. They’re produced in a farmer-owned cooperative in Ghana. The money you spend on them helps build schools and provide health care for cocoa farm workers. Our personal pick: a dark chocolate with crunchy mint crystals. $1.20-$3.75 at Mustard Seed Market and Ten Thousand Villages, in Cleveland and Akron.
Go Nuts
Pistachios are packed with protein, vitamins and antioxidants. Plus, they’re fun to eat, especially with these four roasts from Everybody’s Nuts — European, Salted, Unsalted, and Salt & Pepper. Each box has a comic strip featuring “Stach,” the pistachio that will have you cracking up while cracking shells. $3.99 at Giant Eagle and Heinen’s.
Taste of the Island
Fans of Caribbean BBQ voted Kettle Island Jerk Potato Chips No. 1 in the company’s People’s Choice Campaign. The thick, hot aftertaste of Jamaican spices sticks to the tongue (and requires a post-snacking breath mint). $1.99-$2.29 at Giant Eagle, Trader Joe’s, Heinen’s and Wild Oats.
Liqueur of Love
Court the object of your heart’s desire with Agavero, a Mexican tequila infused with the essence of the damiana flower, a natural aphrodisiac. The caramelly liqueur can be used to create a steamy Mexican coffee or a cool margarita. $30 at Giant Eagle, Alex’s Beverage & Liquor in Brunswick, Solon Wine & Liquor, Minotti’s Wine & Liquor and Joe D’s Beverage & Deli in Cleveland.
