Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert has already changed "The Gund" to "The Q." But that's not the only alteration on the map for the wine and gold as the NBA regular season begins this month. We offer you a fan dictionary to help keep every

Andriuskevicius, Martynas The Cavaliers picked up the rights to this forward/center from the Orlando Magic in June. The 7-foot-2-inch, 19-year-old Lithuania native was the 44th overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft. May we suggest the nickname "A"?


Brown, Mike New Cavaliers head coach. Most recently an assistant with the Indiana Pacers, he received a four-year, $10 million deal.


Cub Cadet Premium Lawn Equipment The "presenting sponsor" of the Cavaliers" 2005-2006 season.


Double C Started by Usher last year, the "Double C" joins the Atlanta Braves" "Tomahawk Chop" in the Hall of Fame of sports fan hand gestures (the middle finger doesn't count). Egan, Hank Nw assistant coach. Has been an NBA assistant for nine seasons.


Ferry, Danny New general manager and former Cleveland Cavaliers player. He was most recently director of basketball operations for the San Antonio Spurs.

Henderson, Alan Forward signed to a one-year deal with the Cavaliers. He spent last season with the Dallas Mavericks.

Hughes, Larry Former Washington Wizards guard signed to a five-year deal with the Cavaliers.

Hunt, Melvin New assistant coach. He was an assistant with the Lakers last season.

Jones, Damon Free agent signed to provide consistency from behind the three-point line. He ranked fifth in the NBA in three-point field-goal percentage (43.2 percent) last season with the Miami Heat.


King James Common reference to Cavaliers star LeBron James. He's beginning to edge out "The Holy Bible" for most common answer when people are asked to name with what they most closely associate the phrase "King James." (See: LeBron)


LeBron The universal shorthand for Cavaliers star LeBron James. He joins Shaq and Kobe in the NBA's all-you-need-is-a-first-name league of mega-stars.


Malone, Michael New assistant coach. The son of former Cavaliers coach Brendan Malone, he spent the past two seasons as an assistant with the New York Knicks.

Marshall, Donyell Forward signed to a four-year deal. He played with the Toronto Raptors last season and was the only player in the NBA to finish in the Top 25 in rebounds (9.9 per game), blocks (1.51 per game) and three-point field-goal percentage (40.3).


Natt, Kenny Assistant coach. He spent the 2004-2005 season as a Cavaliers assistant.

Q, The The nickname of Quicken Loans Arena. Replaces "The Gund" in your daily vocabulary.

Quicken Loans Arena The official name of the downtown sports and entertainment venue formerly known as Gund Arena.

Quicken Loans Livonia, Mich.-based online lending firm Dan Gilbert founded in 1985. It is the nation"s largest online mortgage broker, closing approximately $12 billion worth of mortgage loans in 2004. Gilbert will bring 300 Quicken Loans jobs to the city in 2006. (See: Gilbert, Dan)
