And Another Thing (17)

If you’re a fan of retro, late-night horror flick fare, Edward Douglas’ Midnight Syndicate has some new mood music for you. When we last talked to the Chardon resident, he was beginning post-production on “The Dead Matter,” the largest Ohio-financed film ever (“Most Interesting People,” January 2008). But the workload didn’t keep him and Midnight Syndicate collaborator Gavin Goszka from producing a soundtrack for director Robert Kurtzman’s horror film “The Rage.” Douglas composed the film score, and says Midnight Syndicate fans will notice a difference between this release and the duo’s previous gothic-themed instrumental works. “[It’s] much more atmospheric with big, dynamic movements that are following the action in what is a very intense and high-energy horror film,” he says. The disc is now available at Amazon.com and Hot Topic stores. As far as “The Dead Matter,” Douglas says look for a late 2008 or early 2009 release.
