Sam McNulty’s empire of pubs on West 25th Street came to fruition in 2011 when he tapped brewmaster Andy Tveekrem to open Market Garden Brewery in a 9,000-square-foot building beside the West Side Market. “We were really inspired by a sense of place,” says McNulty.

In 2016, McNulty expanded into a 1,000-gallon production facility that started bottling Citramax IPA, Prosperity Wheat and Progress Pilsner. With a huge sign declaring “BEER” on top, the 35,000-square-foot facility now doubles as a shrine to brewing where visitors can tour the high-powered microbrew facility with enough automation to pump out 1,000 gallons of beer a day.
