Small-batch brewery
We're fickle about beer. We have our staples, but our beer receptors get bored after too many IPAs or pilsners. That's where Platform Beer Co. plays the hero. An ever-evolving and always rotating lineup of house beers can include witbiers, dark saisons or Lichtenhainers. "We hope people come in with an expectation of seeing what the seasonal beers are and trying something new," says brewmaster and co-owner Shaun Yasaki. When a keg becomes kicked, Platform taps a new beer on the spot. Some days, that constant change leads to new time-stamped beer lists scattered across the repurposed bowling lane wood bar, a relic of the early 20th-century Hungarian social club that used to occupy the building. Since it doesn't brew flagship beers, Platform lets customers sample a beer to see if it's up their alley. "There's a beer for everybody," Yasaki says. 4125 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, 216-202-1386, platformbeerco.com
