Aloha from Trader Joe’s. One of the latest trends in alternatives to fast food originated centuries ago in Hawaii: the poke bowl (pronounced POH-kay). A traditional poke bowl features super fresh fish (often raw) with dry ingredients like seaweed and sea salt. You might have even noticed restaurants specializing in poke bowls popping up around you.

You can pick up the Trader Joe’s Smoked Salmon Poke Bowl from the fresh prepared food section, and enjoy a lightly seasoned bed of brown rice topped with smoked salmon marinated in a blend of soy sauce, sesame oil and red chili flakes. Accompanying these ingredients are sweet onions, pickled cucumbers and shredded carrots, as well as a pack of nori strips and a sweet, spicy blood orange ponzu dressing. The whole bowl at one serving is only 240 calories and delivers 11 grams of protein. 28425 Chagrin Blvd., Woodmere, 216-591-9457, traderjoes.com
