Doughnuts and ice cream together? Yes, please. The Treatery, an Akron shop that specializes in rolled ice cream, dreamed up their take on “cruffs” ($6.50) last year. Doughnuts are sliced open, filled with a scoop of ice cream then placed on a panini press to seal the culinary delight closed. The result is a warm, doughy outside paired with a burst of cool, refreshing filling. Choose from seven house flavors such as maple bacon filled with maple ice cream, bacon bits and a caramel drizzle or create your own “cruff” with ice cream flavors such as ube or mocha, mix-ins such as marshmallow fluff or pecans and a drizzle such as lychee or cookie butter. 21 Furnace St., Suite 404, Akron, 330-237-9500, nomzeatz.com/the-treatery
