Carryout is the name of the game at this downtown Asian-fusion spot dedicated to fresh ingredients in dishes such as Asian tacos.

This downtown takeout spot bases its business on fresh, organic ingredients, creating inventive, highly customizable Asian-fusion dishes.

“You’re choosing a bowl off our prix fixe menu, but you can make that any way you want,” says co-owner Prakash Karamchandani. “It’s really open and accessible.”

The real reason to slide through this spot is the assortment of Asian tacos, such as the Orange Crunch, which comes with grilled chicken, curried cashews, crunchy noodles, microgreens and a citrus orange glaze.

Utilizing a mobile app where guests can order in advance, more than 80% of the business relies on fast-casual takeout. And Balance has taken the environmental-impact guilt out of carryout by packaging everything in compostable containers.

“We’re just trying to do what we can to be good citizens,” Karamchandani says.

Try This: The Budda Bowl ($8.50) made with chickpeas, red onions, tomato, cilantro and bean sprouts comes bathed in a spicy Indian-inspired butter sauce.

How To Order: By Phone, Online, DoorDash, GrubHub, Postmates, Uber Eats
