Flight Cleveland
This chic wine shop and bar in the Gordon Square Arts District is an ideal setting for a night out with friends over a flight of wine and some tasty bar snacks. It’s also the perfect place to stop before a night in, so you can buy one of more than 400 bottles of wine. There’s even a section of 13 reds and 13 whites all under $13. While you’re at it, order a cheese and meat board to go for the full Flight experience at home. “We’ve always prided ourselves on having an eclectic shop and collection,” says owner Lindsay Smith. “People are still interested in wacky wines and small producers, but certain things fly off the shelves faster than others.” 5712 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, 216-400-6867, flightcleveland.com

Ohio Brewing Co.
For some beer connoisseurs, there’s nothing like a cold draft brew. Luckily, the team at Ohio Brewing Co. agrees and isn’t opposed to pouring beers on-the-fly. This Cuyahoga Falls brewpub offers several options for carryout. You can bring your own 64-ounce glass growler to be refilled or buy a 16-ounce aluminum crowler, sold as singles or in four-packs. Growlers for purchase are coming soon, but for now guest and house beers are both available, such as the Verich Gold. “It’s a nice golden ale — very drinkable and very smooth,” says owner Chris Verich. 2250 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, 234-208-6243, ohiobrewing.com

Red, Wine & Brew“Chances are, we have it,” is the tagline at Red, Wine & Brew. The Mentor outlet boasts a selection of 9,000 wines and 2,000 beers, including 24 that are on tap and available for carryout with a growler. On top of offering unmatched variety, retail general manager Charles Ballou says the shop, which also has a Chesterland location, specializes in adding a personal touch. “A young lady called the other day to say she was swinging by for her favorite moscato, but she wanted it chilled,” he says. “It was ready for her when she got here.” 9620 Old Johnnycake Ridge Road, Mentor, 440-210-0024, redwineandbrew.us
