Cooking Class We Love: Stir Studio Kitchen

The new Ohio City-based classes make cooking low-key, fun and comfortable.

From the street, Stir Studio Kitchen is stately — a 1,200-square-foot Victorian looming over Lorain Avenue.

But the cooking classes inside are customized to clients’ comfort. “Our model is really a place you go for a dining experience, not a one-off class,” says owner Charlie Denk.

Stir hosts eight-to-10-person classes ($50-$75) tailored to comfort levels and dietary restrictions. In a high-ceilinged kitchen with a hip bistro’s minimalist flair, guests sip BYOB wine while prepping on six stainless steel tables for eclectic three-course meals that could include “Trashy Vegan” or refined Middle Eastern mezze.

When the meal is over, kick back with a complimentary game of pool — tonight, Stir should feel like home. 4461 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, 440-829-3136, stirstudiokitchen.com
