Sometimes the best thing to do is breathe. Practicing yoga will help you do just that, whether it’s at the beginning of a busy day or at the end of a day for some much needed me-time. “I look at it as a vacation,” says Jim Doughman, a yoga instructor at Phoenix Yoga. “Sometimes you just need that moment where you’re able to find a time period where you’re uniting things, bringing the mind and body together in the same space.” Calm your mind with some of our favorite virtual yoga classes.

Cleveland Yoga
At Cleveland Yoga, a Zoom class ($15 per drop-in) brings you directly into the socially distanced, in-person classes. Instructors like Tami Schneider are there to guide you the whole time with coaching and encouragement. “Bringing people together that are working towards the same goal — which is physical fitness and stress reduction — in our community is something that has been connecting our students even before COVID, but now even more,” she says. clevelandyoga.com

Modern Yoga
Modern Yoga’s power yoga classes ($50 for a year membership) are aimed for flexibility, both for your body and your schedule. Most classes are offered on demand in audio or video and range from 30 to 75 minutes so you can work on your strength poses whenever and however you need it. “It’s really the breath practice that makes the difference in anxiety reduction and self-control,” says Joyce Fijalkovich Atherton, owner and instructor. modernyogacle.com

Phoenix Yoga
The Stretch and Restore ($10 per class) is a classic combination of yin yoga and restorative yoga that slowly lengthens the muscles. With instructors like Jim Doughman doing the stretches with you through the Zoom screen, it helps with pratyahara, the yoga term for separation of thoughts from sensory input. “You’re experiencing a challenge but it’s more of a mental challenge,” he says. “You want to keep your mind away from how hard the pose is and keep it focused on the breath.” phoenixyogacle.com
