Sure, Food trucks are fun. But sometimes we don’t want to track down those four-wheeled foodie-mobiles to satisfy our cravings.

That’s why we’re excited for chef Matt Barnes’ Gourmet Guy Cafe in Rocky River. Known most recently for the Manna Truck, the chef opened this brick-and-mortar spot in November. Inside the white, modern space, guests find Manna Truck faves such as the eggplant fries ($6) or the salmon burger ($11) among a handful of new sandwiches and sides, plus a build-your-own menu of salads, bowls and wraps.

The Triple B grilled cheese ($9) takes the childhood classic and adds blackberry jam, caramelized onions, bacon and luxurious Brie. For a hint of heat, order the Hawaiian jerk pork sandwich ($9), where a pile of tender pork meets pineapple, cilantro, pickled red onions and a Sriracha mayo that dazzles. And if you love those eggplant fries, give the fried Brussels sprouts ($6) a try. The perfectly roasted leaves soak up the roasted garlic and bacon mayo on top.

We’ll gladly hit the road for tasty bites like these.
