Development | By Ken Prendergast, NEOTrans
One of the region’s biggest megaprojects got underway on April 15, when state, county, and city officials threw spades of dirt in a groundbreaking ceremony for the Interstate 90 Central Interchange Project in Downtown Cleveland.
Years of Work: Major reconstruction work on Northeast Ohio’s busiest highway, which hosts more than 160,000 vehicles a day, will take about six years to complete.
The Idea: This $328 million project, in the planning stages for 20 years, will replace aging pavement and bridge structures originally built in the 1960s and modernize one of Ohio's most important transportation corridors.
ODOT District 12 Deputy Director John Picuri: “This milestone is the result of strong collaboration among ODOT, city, and county partners, ensuring the infrastructure upgrades are not only functional but also visually appealing and thoughtfully designed to reflect the character of the community."

Harmony Hi-Fi opening in Ohio City.
Food & Drink | By Douglas Trattner
Harmony Hi-Fi, a vinyl listening bar, will replace Kyuu-juu in Ohio City. Partners Christine Somrak and Danny Chedid are behind the project, which will open on the main floor of the property in late April.
Somrak: “I visited Parachute vinyl bar in Chicago and I just fell in love with the concept. It brought back my childhood, sitting around listening to vinyl records with my family. I always liked the tangible music that you can put in your hand.”
The Playlist: Harmony will play everything from Led Zeppelin to Coltrane, likely having nights set aside for specific genres and, perhaps, a BYOV night when guests can bring along their favorite platters.
The Menu: Chef Terrell Locklear has put together a menu of small plates, including items like grilled wings, chargrilled oysters, salmon bites, flatbreads, Cajun chicken rolls, smash burgers and grilled lamb lollipops.
