In a Dander
How is a company voted best in the “Pet Sitting” category when they do not offer the service? (“Best of Cleveland,” October 2008) Pet sitting, by definition, is a service that is only performed in the client’s home. I wasn’t aware that The Barkley, who has won this two years in a row, offered in-home care. In fact, I’m sure that they don’t. What gives? Why not give the real pet sitting companies a shot at the title? From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: “A pet sitter is a contracted service provider who takes care of a pet in its own home.”

Editor’s Note:
Thank you for pointing out the discrepancy. Now we need to go edit that Wikipedia definition of “pet sitter” so our Readers’ Pick winner is accurate.

High School Math
We at Benedictine High School very much appreciate inclusion in your “Private Schools Survival Guide.” (September 2008) However, during the change of school administrations this summer, we submitted an incomplete composite SAT score. The writing score, which only became part of the composite in 2006, was not included. The actual 2008 Benedictine SAT composite score is 1591, which is 80 points higher than the national average composite of 1511. We actually outscored the national average in every category. Thanks for allowing us space to correct this error on our part and for providing your readers the opportunity to learn about the many education options available here.

Bad First Impression
I do not know how you allowed the photo of the cute little boy (“First Impressions,” September 2008) to be published with the unfounded comment, “He doesn’t look well adjusted,” by an adult stranger. Didn’t you have any sense of protecting the child? I hope the boy is not traumatized. He doesn’t deserve to be. I hope the parents can deal with it. I am disappointed in your judgement. I feel you took advantage of the parents, who were not thinking about all the ramifications, just to get an interesting story. I will say a prayer for the cute little boy, that he will be able to cope with your missteps.
