If you forget to mark your calendar for the Cleveland National Air Show Sept. 1-3, the roar of jets overhead will remind you the sky’s the limit for summer thrill-seekers. “It’s kind of like a circus,” says the show’s executive director Kim Dell.

The three-day event at Burke Lakefront Airport features high-intensity acts such as Ashley Shelton, who walks on the wing of a biplane more than 1,200 feet in the air as it’s flown by her husband at 138 mph. More grounded in tech? The Drone Werx arena has a flight crew ready to test-drive a vast assortment of drones alongside a U.S. Air Force flight simulator display.

“Drones are the next generation,” says Dell. “It’s not just a kid thing, and coming to the air show really helps [people] understand what they can be used for.” 1501 N. Marginal Road, Cleveland, 216-781-0747, clevelandairshow.com
