Message from the Mayor: Celebrating Strongsville's Growth

This is an exciting year for Strongsville as many years of planning come to fruition with the long-awaited extension of Foltz Parkway and the opening of 87.5 acres of new shovel-ready land. This is the largest industrial greenfield site for sale in Cuyahoga County, and it will create jobs and opportunities for our residents and revenue for our community.

We’re also pleased to see continued strength in our retail sector, where SouthPark Mall will soon welcome a new hotel that will include both a traditional Hampton Inn and a Home2 Suites by Hilton for extended stays.

A number of other retailers have joined the community this year, including a bookstore, grocery store and a variety of restaurants.

That type of business growth, along with responsible financial management, is what allows us to enjoy the fiscal stability that not only funds our superior safety forces, city services and infrastructure improvements, but has resulted in Moody’s Investor Services reaffirming our Aaa bond rating — a distinction held by only 14 communities in Ohio and only 250 across the United States.

At the same time, we remain focused on quality of life and green space. This May, we were honored to host the annual Tree City USA awards for the region, and we’re proud of the ever-expanding lineup of family activities in our new Town Center Park.
