Otto Moser's Restaurant

Sure, there’s an asterisk next to Otto Moser’s claim of being the city’s oldest restaurant. But Otto’s 1994 move from a rundown East Fourth Street (the home to four theaters a century ago) to PlayhouseSquare reconnected the place to its show-business roots. You’ll find that history present in the dog-eared photos of bygone stage actors who frequented the old location, as well as the drink rail from Otto’s original bar. The place offers tasty, no-frills fare, but sandwiches are the stars here. Try the Helen Hayes (breaded chicken breast with ham and provolone) or the W.C. Fields (roast beef, pastrami and mozzarella on rye).
