🐟 Giant Fish Are Making a Comeback in Lake Erie's Rivers: Ohio wildlife officials stock thousands of 6-inch juvenile lake sturgeon a year, and the fish can grow to 6 feet, top 100 pounds and live up to 400 years. Stocking began in the Maumee River in 2018 and has expanded to the Cuyahoga and Sandusky rivers. "Sturgeon are our charismatic megafauna," says fisheries biologist Eric Weimer.
🎸 Triumph Is Back: The Canadian rock band formed in Mississauga in 1975 reunites for a 50th anniversary tour that stops at Rocket Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Singer-guitarist Rik Emmett is among the members.
🎄 See Costumes From White Christmas in Youngstown: Original screen-worn wardrobe from the 1954 holiday classic, plus memorabilia belonging to Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, goes on display Nov. 14 through Dec. 31 at the Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave. The exhibition is part of the museum's "Memories of Christmas Past" holiday event.
ICYMI: Remember our look at the Veterans Memorial Bridge? Bonds approved in 1912 paid for the $5 million span, nearly $158 million today, a 3,112-foot double-decker with 12 concrete arches and a steel center high enough for ships. It opened Oct. 15, 1917, and trolleys ran on the lower level until 1954.

Today's Trivia
What now-defunct publication was billed as "Cleveland's Monthly Feminist and Lesbian Newspaper” when it debuted in 1973?
Food & Drinks: Brine Bar brings oysters, lobster rolls and a taste of New England to Edgewater.

Chef Kevin O’Connell’s Brine Bar quietly opened Oct. 21 at 10431 Clifton Blvd., in the former Le Marche space. The 36-seat spot is the newest from O’Connell’s restaurant group, which also runs La Ville Lumiere and La Porta Rossa.
The Menu: Oysters come in usually four to six varieties, raw, grilled or baked, alongside hot and cold lobster rolls ($36), lobster pot pie ($39), clam chowder ($14), crab beignets ($24) and a shareable seafood tower ($80). Steak tartare, a burger and a Wagyu sirloin round it out.
The Details: It’s walk-in only, with a waitlist through Resy, and guests may be limited to 90 minutes when it’s busy. It’s open Monday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to midnight, with happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight, plus oysters for $2 each.
Worth Noting: Brine Bar is serving nonalcoholic beverages while its liquor license is finalized. Live acoustic performances in the front window start in mid-November, initially on Friday evenings.
Talk of the Town
A plan for the Midline Business District would add more than 2,500 jobs on the near East Side. The masterplan calls for 1.5 million square feet of development on up to 21 sites, more than 2 miles of trails and at least 10 acres of public open space between Midtown and the Opportunity Corridor. Its sponsor is seeking City Planning Commission approval.
Two market founders want to bring the Galleria back to life. The Cleveland Market's Stephanie Hamme and Kaitie Nickel are bringing about 100 vendors to the mostly empty mall at 1301 E. Ninth St. on Nov. 20-22 and Nov. 27-29, with Fridays as ticketed preview nights. "We're gonna put eyeballs back on the Galleria," Nickel says.
Trumbull County is losing its only hospital labor and delivery unit. Mercy Health's St. Joseph Hospital in Warren plans to move deliveries to St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Youngstown, 27 miles away, by early December, citing a shortage of OB-GYNs. County commissioners filed a complaint with Ohio Medicaid calling the move an "obstetrics desert."
The Cleveland Public Library has rules for artificial intelligence. Trustees approved an AI governance policy that takes effect Oct. 16 and can be amended quarterly, and the library set up an AI Futures Council. Circulation is up 18% so far this year.
Quiz time: what did Cleveland's giant Hulett cranes unload? Four of the machines, each 100 feet tall and able to grab 17 tons in a single bite, stood at Whiskey Island from 1912 until they were decommissioned in 1992. Only one arm and bucket remain.

Ron Ledgard is Cleveland Magazine's managing editor and a Pittsburgh native who has made his peace with Cleveland (except on Sundays). He's a University of Pittsburgh graduate, a veteran of The Athletic and the Akron Beacon Journal, and was there for every chapter of LeBron's Cleveland story. After two decades of chasing deadlines and box scores, he's happily landed in magazines. He's a sucker for a long story done right, the kind you save for a Sunday morning (before kickoff, of course). When he isn't editing, he's out on a trail, trying a new restaurant or hunting for the next great thing to do. Sports is his subject of choice, and coffee is his fuel. Most Starbucks baristas in the area greet him like the Cheers crowd greeted Norm.
