If you’re bored stiff, dive into a sticky situation by exploring TapeScape, the newest exhibit at the Great Lakes Science Center. In surrounding interactive modules, you’ll learn the history of Velcro, pick apart Oreos and learn how geckos climb smooth walls.

But the real glue that holds everything together is a two-story, 1,300-square-foot playground packed with tunnels and suspension bridges made from clear packing tape wound tightly around a steel frame. If you unraveled it all, you’d have 50 miles of tape that would stretch from Cleveland to about Massillon.

“There’s so much engineering that goes into how this works,” says artist Eric Lennartson. “No matter how old you are, you feel like a kid again when you come into the exhibit.” 601 Erieside Ave., Cleveland, 216-694-2000, greatscience.com
