It may no longer navigate the rough waters of the Pacific, but the World War II submarine has an ocean’s worth of history. The 312-foot, 1,525-ton Cod — credited with sinking more than 12 enemy vessels — served as a naval reserve training vessel on the shores of Lake Erie from 1959 to 1971.
