The Must-Do List: Lose Yourself in the Eastman Reading Garden

Sneak away to this secret downtown nook.

Tucked behind a bronze gate made of letters and word fragments, Cleveland Public Library’s Eastman Reading Garden is a place to find meaning in words, art and reflection. While the courtyard physically joins downtown’s Main Library and the Louis Stokes Wing, there’s a spiritual connection too. Playful figures by Tom Otterness appear to climb, read and explore the tranquil space. But you’ll find us seeking inspiration by Maya Lin’s reflecting pool, where her brother Tan’s poetry is etched in granite pavers and prompts visitors to create something of their own. 325 Superior Ave., Cleveland, 216-623-2800, cpl.org
