Best Of CLE: Old-School Games
Foundry Social in Medina doubles down on the fun of its High Voltage Karting go-karts with old-school arcade games and more.
“We basically built a place of all the things we would want to do if we were out one night looking for a way to have fun,” says partner Gene Whaley.
Built into a late-1800s foundry a few blocks from Medina’s public square, the Foundry Social side of things was added to High Voltage Karting, which Whaley also co-founded, late last year. From challenging friends to see who can put up the highest Pac-Man score or turn in the fastest go-kart lap, to toasting the victor at the bar, the spot is a hang out go-to.
And Whaley says the duckpin bowling, a mini version of the regular game, is a must-play.
“You don’t have to be athletic to do it,” he says. “It’s a glorified drinking game. It’s fun and easy to do.” 333 Foundry St., Medina, 330-333-9000, thefoundrysocial.com
