Those in search of chicken in Downtown Cleveland now have another option.
Sauce The City at Re:bar officially opens its doors to the public on Wednesday. The restaurant is known for its chicken and the variety of sauces that go with it.
Restaurantgoers can expect a few different ways that chicken is used as a vehicle for the original sauces. This includes wings, tenders, sliders, loaded fries and, of course, the chicken sandwich.
The menu is relatively simple. Sauce The City is a “what you see is what you get” type of place. But what the restaurant does, it does well. The various sauces that can be used for dipping or as a topping on sandwiches include lemon pepper ranch, Cleveland hot, cilantro Buffalo, garlic Parmesan, honey BBQ, the 305 rub and home-style D’ete, a sweet sauce with a bit of a kick at the end.
There’s a cocktail menu that changes seasonally while also keeping signature drinks on it full-time. The signatures include a margarita that comes in a variety of flavors, the X’press Yourself which is an espresso martini and a variety of mojito flavors.
The seasonal drinks at the opening are the Smoked Apple, which is a mezcal drink; the 112 “Peaches & Cream” that features a peach-infused Grey Goose base; and Rosemary’s Bulliet.
The space itself gives an industrial/minimalist vibe. Art can be found on some of the walls, and a DJ booth is to the right of the smaller of the two bars inside.
Sauce The City at Re:bar is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m.
