Pasta. Sauce. Pasta. Sauce. Boil, douse, repeat. But Megan Manning, chef and owner of Little Lakewood Pasta Co., has a remedy for that red sauce rut. Her noodles are so tasty that home cooks don’t have to lean on the tomatoey crutch. Just add olive oil, grilled chicken and vegetables to one of her 15 varieties of fettuccine ($5 for a half-pound bag) from garlic lovers to pumpkin spice or sweet corn ravioli (12 for $6). The small-batch, air-dried pasta is made with only flour, water and fresh produce for a flavor boost. Many varieties even skip the egg, so they’re also vegan-friendly and have a tender bite. “It has a nice softer al dente texture to it,” she says. Use It At Home: Mix coconut milk with marinara and serve over the Thai curry penne ($8 for a 1-pound bag) with grilled chicken and veggies. 15613 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, 216-889-7966, littlelakewoodpasta.com
