Jason M. Joyce
CEO, ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County
Education: Master’s degree in education/community counseling, Kent State University; bachelor’s degree in psychology, Ohio University
How I Approach My Day: I try to keep the direction clear and the culture light. I start by focusing on what actually needs action, not just motion. I look at the issues and then try to remove the barriers so the team can move forward.
What I Look for in a Leader: I look for leaders who are steady when everyone else is panicking. Leadership is not about having all the answers; it is about setting direction, building trust and making sure people know where they stand.
Favorite Quote: “People follow incentives, not advice.” — James Clear
My Leadership Style: My leadership style is practical and action oriented. I like clear ownership. One question I ask often is, “Who owns this?” If no one owns it, it usually does not get done. I also believe recognition matters. Thank-yous are currency, and people doing hard work need to know they are seen.
Outside of Work You’ll Find Me: You will usually find me with my wife Pam and our two children, Aiden and Ava.
