Paul W. Hogle
President & CEO, Cleveland Institute of Music
Education: Bachelor’s degree in music administration, University of Evansville
What Success Looks Like to Me: Any success I enjoy is the Institute’s success, which is, ultimately, CIM’s students winning jobs and competitions and competing for the music performance careers of their dreams.
What I Look for in a Leader: I look for clarity of thinking and ability to communicate likewise, a life of integrity and a demonstrated ability to problem solve.
Favorite Quote: “Do not fear failure, but be terrified of regret.”
What Motivates Me Right Now: Leading CIM is like solving a 12-sided Rubik’s cube every day. What motivates me is solving that puzzle today to create the next opportunities for our students to fulfill their dreams and potential.
What Would Surprise Someone to Learn About Me: I played trombone in a Dixieland Band in college to offset tuition.
An Important Lesson I Learned: You shouldn’t take criticism from someone from whom you would not take advice.
A Cleveland Spot I Recommend: Shaker Lakes and the VAD (Van Aken District) are really terrific spots.
