Eat Local: Season’s Eatings

"Eat your vegetables" is a favorite saying of mothers everywhere. Although Farmer Lee Jones of The Chef's Garden agrees with the mantra, he thinks we need to eat our vegetables according to the season, therefore supporting local farmers. "I want to eat what's in season. I love asparagus, and I think that when it's in season, we should eat it three times a day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner," he says. "But when it's out of season, we should lust for it for 10 more months until it comes back into season." Use this guide to when fruits and vegetables are in season, and make your mother proud.
