MISSION & PROGRAMS
Achievement Centers for Children empowers children and adults with disabilities to achieve their greatest potential through holistic and family-focused services. Since 1940, our guiding star has been the passionate belief that disability should never limit opportunity. Achievement Centers’ lifelong continuum of services includes pediatric and adult therapy; adult day programs that build life skills and community connections; specialized education, including a K-12 autism school; and family support services that help parents and caregivers navigate their child’s development, behavioral health needs and access to community resources. Recreation programs provide inclusive opportunities for people of all abilities through year-round camps, therapeutic horsemanship and adapted sports. Across every program, services are tailored to each individual’s unique needs, while providing families with the resources and support they need to thrive. In 2026, Achievement Centers expanded its autism school by moving to a new site in Westlake. The building previously housed an early learning center and was redesigned to be the perfect new home for our students — including 14 classrooms, each with a sensory break area, indoor and outdoor sensory trails and a specialized playground and outdoor classroom. Camp Cheerful celebrates 80 years in 2027 and is the next campus to be reimagined, so nature can work its magic alongside modern, welcoming buildings designed for the disabilities of today. We cannot wait to share more about this next chapter.
“Achievement Centers for Children has given my daughter a place where she is genuinely loved, celebrated and encouraged to reach milestones we once only hoped for.”
