Vikings often get a bad rap as violent raiders and pillagers clad in horned helmets. But the owners of LBM in Lakewood share a deeper kinship with the seafaring Scandinavians. “We all like outdoorsy things — hiking, camping and stuff like that,” says co-owner Eric Ho. “We are also really into Norse mythology.” Those interests helped shape the unusual cocktail bar — skulls and all. You’ll also find cleverly named drinks such as Heat of Battle ($9). Yet Ho insists they aren’t necessarily inspired by the sword-welding warriors. “They’re aggressively flavored,” he says. “We use what the land provides us.” Need proof? Take a sip of the Attack of the Giants ($9), a concoction of kiwi puree, white rum, five-year aged rum and a dash of Skyr Icelandic yogurt. “Kiwis are actually in season,” he says. “Most of them are harvested in a different hemisphere where it’s summer.” 12301 Madison Ave., Lakewood, 216-712-4692, lbmbar.com
