You may not think of Sherrod Brown (“Stand & Deliver,” April 2007) as the U.S. Senate version of George Clooney. But The Hill, a D.C. publication that covers the inner workings of Congress, recently ventured into People magazine territory, selecting Brown as one of its 50 Most Beautiful People on Capitol Hill. The article cooed over the 54-year-old Democrat’s “combination of rumpled cool and passionate progressivism,” even naming him “the unsung beauty of the upper chamber.” They also gushed over Brown’s relationship with his columnist wife, Connie Schultz, noting that he writes her love notes, sings her Beatles songs and calls her “baby.” Can The Hill Politic-OH! calendar be far behind?
