Q: What are the benefits of a student connecting with career services early in college?

A: “The earlier they start the career reflection process, the more likely they are to get an internship, which increases their likelihood of landing a full-time job,” says Eric Evans, director of career development and experiential learning at Lake Erie College. “It’s also for their own benefit to think more deeply about what it is that they want, what skills they came in with and what they want to develop in their educational experience. It’s also very much the ‘tell me about yourself’ question in the interview. The more reflection, the more able you are to help identify what’s your brand and help find a fit in an organization.”
