Barry Bagels Now Open in Ohio City
The Toledo-based bagel shop with more than 50 years of history has been expanding in Northeast Ohio.

Earlier this week, Barry Bagels (2547 Lorain Ave., 216-266-0933) quietly opened the doors to its new Ohio City café. The bagel shop is located in the former Dave’s Cosmic Subs spot next door to Boaz.
Barry Bagels was founded in Toledo more than 50 years ago, but it has been expanding rapidly in the past few years thanks to a new franchising model. There are currently two dozen locations with many more planned.
The first in the region opened about a decade ago in Avon. Since then, new shops have opened in Westlake and Lakewood.
In addition to the traditional boiled-and-baked bagels, Barry Bagels offers bagel and schmears with various cream cheese flavors, breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches, salads and soups, including matzo ball.
The shop is open every day from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
