If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we all need a little more fun in our lives. Recess Games comes to the rescue.

The North Olmsted store boasts a prodigious selection of games to purchase — more than 6,000 at last count — that leaves owners James and Susan Grasso shaking their heads. From the resource management of Catan to family fun with Trekking the National Parks, Recess has it all. Take Wingspan, for example.

2019’s most popular board game tasks players with building the best wildlife preserves — all while teaching them about North American birds.

Before COVID-19, up to 50 players would pack into the store’s backroom for weekly Dungeons & Dragons adventures and other game nights. Now, crowds are smaller, but board game meetups are still going strong.

“Our community is very inviting,” says James. “It’s rare that we play a game where we’re not also teaching it to someone playing it for the first time.” 26636 Brookpark Road Extension, North Olmsted, 440-779-7008, recess.net
