Sarah Kurfis and her sister Erica started their business in 2017, where they specialize in selling cute items with a dose of personality. After Kurfis’ cat didn’t flinch at a blow dryer, she realized how brave her feline friend was. “Then it just hit me like, Oh my god, dogs and cats need achievements,” says Kurfis. “So we really just kind of started looking around and creating a combination of half-ridiculous things like ‘get a squirrel’ or ‘making a friend.’ ”

Like many of their items, the badges have a side of humor that make you laugh at your pet, even if they might have rolled in something smelly. “There’s no real context for dog badges,” says Kurfis, “but once people realize what they are, then it becomes a sharing session of dogs’ stories.” etsy.com/shop/snarkypantsstudios
