Best Of CLE: Mule Of The Month

Our calendars may be full of Zoom meetings, scheduled self-care time and more, but we also get hyped the first of every month for Caston & Main Brew Yard’s Mule of the Month ($8).

A twist on the refreshing combination of ginger beer, vodka, mint and lime, the Akron spot mixes things up with previous creations such as an Irish mule with Jameson Irish Whiskey, Sprite, ginger beer and mint for March, and a blueberry gin mule featuring Hendrick’s Gin, blueberries, cucumbers, ginger beer and mint for September.

“One of the owner’s favorite drinks is a mule,” says general manager Kristina Clark. “The mint can go pretty much with anything.”

To that end, October’s specialty is the apple mule, featuring a mix of apple vodka, whipped cream vodka, apple cider and ginger beer. It’s garnished with sliced apple and mint and served in a traditional copper mug with a cinnamon stick for stirring.
