For a fun take on a childhood favorite, head to Sixth City Sailors Club in downtown Cleveland.

The less-serious sister spot of the swanky Society Lounge, this Euclid Avenue bar is known for its creative takes on beer cocktails, bottled cocktails and six varieties of slushies such as the Jungle Bird ($10).

Made with rum, Campari (which has a bittersweet taste), pineapple and lime, the alcoholic beverage has quickly become a fan favorite. This slushie is reminiscent of those bright blue, green and red slushies you’d get as a kid, but takes its origins from a popular tiki drink of the same name.

“It’s a favorite among bartenders in the tiki world,” says owner Joey Fredrickson.

Served in a stemless wine glass with a straw and a lime slice, it’s an elevated take on a youthful memory.

“We’re the only people in town doing a slushie program,” says Fredrickson. “All our drinks are made from scratch.” 668 Euclid Ave., Suite 2, Cleveland, 216-938-7392, sixthcitysailors.com
