You can thank late-night study cravings for these towering treats. While poring over torts, contracts and civil proceedings in law school, Catheryn Greene would pair her two favorite desserts: ice cream and cookies. This summer she launched Cathy’s Creamery in downtown Cleveland, making her mammoth ice cream sandwiches ($5) with ice cream, milk and butter from local farms. With 16 ice cream flavors, six cookie options and six confectionary toppings, the combinations are a study in sweet success. Consider yourself a traditionalist? Try the chewy chocolate chip with creamy vanilla ice cream dipped in sprinkles. Or go with Greene’s personal favorite: “I love our chocolate brownie cookie with our strawberry ice cream,” she says. “It tastes like a strawberry dipped in chocolate.” 1300 W.
