What’s trending right now in home decor is similar to what we’ve seen before, but with a more traditional twist, says Terese Antle, upholstery merchandiser for Sedlak Interiors. She adds white finishes are in but not with heavy distressing. “We see a slight move back toward more traditional styles,” she notes, “away from just very straight lines.”

Mixing styles is in, too, adding more personality to a room. “We see brass finishes sneaking in, with most manufacturers using the term 'antique bronze' for these finishes,” she says. “[You can] mix wood with metals and stone for interest.”

The mix-and-match also comes into play with modular sectional pieces, as well as the use of motion or reclining furniture, all of which provides flexibility in design. They are seeing bolder statements accessories with very large pictures and paintings. 34300 Solon Road, Solon, 440-248-2424, sedlakinteriors.com
