Canton's Factory of Terror Celebrates 25 Years of Haunted Fun

Creep through a haunted asylum and be chased by the spirit of a murderous doctor, dodge unnatural sea creatures and undead pirates in a dark abyss, hide from the twisted henchmen of the murderous Winters couple, and try to navigate an industrial city determined to rip you to pieces. Mazes, scare actors and spine-tingling attractions fill Canton’s Factory of Terror, one of the largest indoor haunted houses in the world. The walk-through experience is more than a mile long, filling a former industrial site with fear.

The Factory of Terror’s unique themed attractions and storytelling are part of what keeps the fear alive. Grimm Woods, the newest attraction opening this year, is a fairy tale world with a Halloween twist, filled with Jack-o’-lanterns, and storytime staples such as a tall stone tower and a candy coated cottage as well as a pumpkin carving machine. During the day, Grimm Woods is the perfect family-friendly haunt, but those who want a more intense experience only have to wait until night for the scare actors to populate the Woods.

Done getting scared for the night? Grab a drink at one of the five themed bars, dance at the Fear Fair Back Alley Dance Club, or give axe throwing a try at the All American Battle Bar.

“Our goal has always been to give people a reason to come back year after year and experience something new,” says Sarah Kuceyeski, executive administrator of the Factory of Terror.

This year, the Factory hits a major milestone of bringing fear to Northeast Ohio.

“Celebrating 25 years is an incredible milestone for Factory of Terror, especially knowing how much the attraction has grown since we first opened our doors,” says Kuceyeski. “What started as a local haunted attraction has become a destination that draws guests from across Ohio and beyond.”

The Factory of Terror opens its doors Sept. 19 and will fittingly close them on Friday the 13th, in November.
