Cheap Eats: Sip 4 Less

You long ago graduated from buck-a-bottle happy hour deals, but that doesn’t mean you don’t like a great drink at a good value. Here are a few of our favorites.

Velvet Tango Room
$10 cocktails // Mon-Fri, 4 - 7:30 p.m.
2095 Columbus Road, Cleveland, (216) 241-8869, velvettangoroom.com

OK, so $5 off a $15 cocktail (the flat rate for drinks at the Velvet Tango Room) might not seem like much. But it’s a decent discount for an old-fashioned concoction made with premium liquors and served with an air of sophistication.

Great Lakes Brewing Co.
$2 drafts // Tue, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
2516 Market Ave., Cleveland, (216) 771-4404, greatlakesbrewing.com

The typical Monday through Friday happy hour here offers a buck off all 16-ounce pints from 4 to 7 p.m. But on Tuesdays 12-ounce drafts of the five year-round beers are just $2 in the Tap Room and Beer Cellar.

Lopez Southwestern Food Club
Half-price tequila drinks // Tue, 5 - 9 p.m.
2196 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights, (216) 932-9000,
lopezonlee.com

If you want to tip back a tequila drink (or enjoy a good old-fashioned shot of the stuff), head to Lopez on Lee. The East Side Mexican restaurant offers 50 percent off all tequila drinks on Tuesdays. A pitcher of white peach margaritas is calling for you.

Luxe
2-for-1 specialty cocktails // Mon-Fri, 5 - 7 p.m.
6605 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, (216) 916-8732, luxecleveland.com

Known for fun concoctions such as the Bloom (lavender, blueberry, handmade lemonade and citrus vodka), Luxe has a sweet weekday deal on its signature sippers. The two-for-one special applies to beers as well. Although you could order PBR, Luxe also offers more refined options such as Hoegaarden and Left Hand Milk Stout.
