There are few things more decadent than a lobster roll, and it’s that combination of fresh fall-apart-in-your-mouth lobster and a light, fluffy roll that makes the dish stand out every time we spot it on a menu. Barra Tacos took that feeling and turned it on its head with its lobster roll taco, which consists of a perfect blend of decadent, juicy pieces of northern Maine lobster with the flavor and spice of a traditional Mexican taco. Or as Barra’s Amherst culinary manager Jonathan George puts it: “It’s the perfect combination that just pops off.” The taco’s uniqueness is on display from the minute you lay your eyes on it. Instead of being couched in a hoagie roll, Barra’s lobster is nestled between a buttered and grilled soft flour tortilla before it’s topped with romaine lettuce, bacon and a red pepper aioli that pairs well with the sweetness of the meat. The lobster has its own Barra flavor, as it’s cooked with a blend of cilantro and lime.  “When you think of tacos you tend to think of chicken and beef,” George says. “When people see that we have lobster on our menu, their eyes just kind of light up. It gives us a huge sense of pride.” 105 Park Ave., Amherst, 440-370-8060; 142 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, 419-502-0025 barra-sandusky.com
