Date Night: Bundle Up for a Sleigh Ride at Ma & Pa's

Spontaneity is the spice of life. When the snow starts falling, Ma & Pa’s in Burton hitches up its romantic sleigh rides. Toss your evening plans and request a horse-drawn reason to nuzzle up. Light flakes of snow fall as you mount the horse-drawn sleigh and bundle under a blanket. Lanterns guide you through dense woods of hickory and maple. “The night ride is the most romantic thing,” says Tammy Puleo, who owns Ma & Pa’s with her husband, Scott. “We keep it as quiet as possible, so it’s just relaxing. All you hear is the horse’s feet.” After the half-hour trip, defrost inside the 1820-built log cabin with a homemade cookie from Ma and a wood-burning fire. Then, mosey over to Ma & Pa’s Gift Shack for a pint of Geauga maple syrup. 15161 Main Market Road, Burton, 440-548-5521, maandpas.com After: Cap a fairy tale evening with a homey, indulgent dish at the Smith, such as maple duck breast or molasses fried bacon. 14608 W.
