Neighborhood:
Warehouse District

Gig: Educator, School Principal, NYC (retired)

Hometown: New York, NY

Downtown Clevelander since: 2015

Car or no car: No car.

What I love:

The ease of it. The walkability of it. The trolleys! FABULOUS! I have not seen that anywhere. Free trolleys?! You can get to 90 percent of where you need to get by trolley, and the buses go the other 10 percent. Other than malls or any place to go shopping — which is impossible to get to — you can pretty much get anywhere you need to go. It’s a wonderful thing that somebody can, say, go to Cleveland State University and travel for free. That’s a pretty nice thing.

What could be better:

The retail. No question about it.
We need something like a Target or a Kohl’s, where you can go in, get what you need quickly and not have to get in a car, drive a half-hour, park....
If you want people to live downtown, you’ve got to be able to get something they need downtown. If I
need a gift for my granddaughters,
I have to go online.
