 Rockin’ on the River

Whenever we hear a Led Zeppelin, Eagles or Queen song, we’re transported to some of our favorite concerts from our youth. Top cover bands from Absolute Journey (Journey) to Strutter (Kiss) re-create that classic feeling Fridays and select Saturdays June 2-Sept. 2 at Lorain’s Black River Landing. “You’re going to see an exact replica of the concerts you grew up with,” says festival owner Bob Earley. 319 Black River Lane, Lorain, 330-730-7591, rockinontheriver.com

 Ohio City Stages

The Cleveland Museum of Art’s free music series combines African, Latin and other global rhythms with a festive block party vibe Wednesdays in July at the Transformer Station. “It’s multigenerational family fun with world-class music,” says Tom Welsh, director of performing arts. 1460 W. 29th St., Cleveland, 216-421-7350, clevelandart.org

 Collinwood Rocks the Summer

Sure you’ve caught shows inside the Beachland Ballroom & Tavern. But owner Cindy Barber wants to expose music fans to North Collinwood artists such as Mossom, Joseph Allen Beltram and Maura Rogers with an outdoor concert series. Discover new tunes for your summer playlist June 24, July 22, Aug. 26 and Sept. 16. “This is about helping local bands,” she says. 15711 Waterloo Road, Cleveland, 216-383-1124, beachlandballroom.com
