Food Pantries in the Cleveland Area

With the Federal Government shutdown, federally funded programs across the country, like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), are being disrupted. This is leaving millions, including 190,000 residents in Cuyahoga County, without the monthly funds they use to pay for food.

While there are developments that may lead to partial distribution of SNAP funds in the coming weeks or months, leaders in Cuyahoga County and others formed a coalition to send $650,000 to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to help ease the pain of the missing SNAP benefits that feed families. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine also issued $25 million to regional food banks.
